Today I did something I don’t normally do: I tried a new lunch spot.
And in trying this new lunch spot, I did another thing I try desperately never to do between the hours of 11 and noon: pull into the parking disaster that is the Whole Foods-anchored shopping center on 400 South (if you’ve ever done that, you know exactly what I’m talking about).
I don’t usually review a restaurants on this blog, but I’d do Salt Lakers a huge disservice if I didn’t prop a new place in that shopping center called Tonyburgers.
The Salt Lake restaurant is their second of Tonyburgers’ two locations. It’s still a small-time operation, and I’m big on small-time operations. My experience there today wasn’t perfect (something in the back was broken and they couldn’t serve fries, for example), but the regular hamburger I ordered came about as close to perfection as a burger can get.
I’m not sure what it was– the meat? The way they mixed the sauces just so?
It doesn’t matter. All I know is I’ll be back soon.
If you’re in the Salt Lake City area, check them out:
