Some bad news on the relocation we were trying to pull off. The house we were hoping to buy was sold last weekend. Since the relocation company handling the sale would not accept contingency offers (we had to sell ours before we could get a contract on it), we had no official claim to it.
We had high hopes, though. The market for starter homes like ours was still considered okay, and since the new one hadn’t had an offer since it was put on the market over a year and a half ago, we figured it would be just a matter of us getting ours sold. Then slam-bam, we make a quick move up the street and all is well in the world.
Well, somebody came by Saturday and bought that house. Dang them. Dang them to heck.
This means we’ll probably need to start looking outside of the neighborhood, a prospect that breaks our hearts.
It also means we’ll be getting new neighbors soon. Yipee. No, I don’t care to meet them and no, they can’t borrow two eggs for their Sunday cookies. A bitter man am I.
