Yeah, so I haven’t posted in a while. That’s mainly because we’ve been on an extended camping trip in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. We took the old motorhome and camped along Skyline Drive at the top of Fairview Canyon.
Skyline Drive snakes through one of the largest aspen forests in the state. There are no improved campgrounds there. No picnic tables or water fill-up stations or grumpy campground hosts. Nope, just dirt roads in an aspen jungle. Beautiful place. Here are a few pics:
An old sheepherding trail along Skyline Drive. No, I didn't doctor this. It's really that pretty.
Remember Red H. from last week's Transcript Bulletin article?
The boys hang out with their cousins on a livestock trough.
We had plenty of rain this year, which rendered all dirt roads completely impassable. We had to manually flatten some moguls and drain several of the larger ruts in order to get the vehicles out.
1975 Dodge Class C motorhome. Go ahead and snicker, but when you get 3/4 of precip in 2 hours in the middle of the night, this baby is a palace on wheels. Here it is on the shores of Elecric Lake. I took this pic in case we ever decide to sell it.
